I've been involved with all things digital for the past 10 years, across a range of products in the tourism industry.
I'm passionate about usability & good design, and the fine line between style and substance.
Useful things can be pretty too.
I’ve had a rather varied role for the last 10 years, working for a tourism company based out in the Caribbean. The business expanded quickly over a few years and I covered all roles; from Shipwright, engineer & tour guide for a 100ft classic Caribbean Schooner, to marketing, operations, web designer / developer, tech support, and shop maintenance.
I would be 100ft up a mast in the morning, designing & building a website in the afternoon, and fixing a computer in the evening.
I was always drawn towards the digital side of my role due to my interest in design, and much of my role, now working remotely from London, is fulfilling this side of the business.
When I'm not sat in front of my laptop you'll likely find me outdoors, playing sports, exploring, and just generally trying to be as active as possible.
Freelance web developer, graphic designer and consultant.
My role in the company is incredibly varied. I am in charge of all the digital side of the business, computer systems, engineering & general day to day running of the business, including;
A full time role originally requiring approximately 7 months a year on location in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines during the tourism high season, and 5 months remote work from Europe.
Since July 2016 I have been working full time from the UK, with a number of trips out when required.
Originally hired as a Tour Guide, then Tour Manager I took the initiative and identified numerous areas where the business could improve. I was offered freedom to run with my ideas, thus creating my varied role.
This has culminated with me being the major lead on the RD&D for the creation of new websites for three main sections of the business; Villa Rentals, Property Sales & Friendship Rose Boat Charters:
